Manager Support
Confidential, independent guidance for managers dealing with difficult conversations, sensitive situations and the everyday challenges of supporting people at work.
Practical support when managing people becomes difficult
Managers are often the first people employees turn to when something is wrong. But knowing how best to respond is not always straightforward.
Through RAM’s Employee Assistance Programme, managers have access to confidential support from specialist counsellors who can help them work through the human aspects of difficult situations, conversations and events.
The service provides an independent space to explore the issue, consider the options available and decide on an appropriate way forward.
When can Manager Support help?
Manager Support can provide guidance across a wide range of workplace situations, including:
- supporting an employee experiencing personal difficulties
- managing conflict between colleagues
- responding to traumatic or challenging incidents
- recognising and responding to signs of stress
- approaching difficult or sensitive conversations
- managing change and one-to-one communications
- developing confidence, resilience and people-management skills
Support for the manager too
Managing others can sometimes be demanding in its own right.
Even experienced managers encounter situations that are unfamiliar or uncomfortable. Manager Support provides a confidential and non-judgemental resource to help managers develop their own approach, build confidence and strengthen their people-management skills.
Manager Support is there to help managers find a positive way forward - for their employees, their teams and themselves.
